- It was a great board when it came out as one of the first and fastest
- 040 boards four years ago. I have had one for more than three years
- (until I recently got me an A3000T/040) and was very happy with it
- most of the time.
-
- Of course the F40 shares the limitations of the A2000 (Zorro-II)
- and adds its own (no SCSI hostadapter, some compatibility problems),
- but I think it is still a good board. Any A2000 who still has to do
- all the work with an 68030 or even 68000 would love one. :-)

- You might not need to upgrade anything but the software and setup.
- What exactly is your problem?
-
- If it's the black screen when powering on with OS 3.1 ROMs installed,
- try pressing and holding down the right mouse button and selecting
- "NOFASTKICK" from the Fusion Forty control menu which will appear
- to make it boot.
-
- If it crashes later on when executing SetPatch you should install
- the small 68040.library from RCS instead of the Commodore one or
- run the F40-tool MoveMH first.
-
- I also suggest that you read the F40-FAQ (on Aminet).

-
- You seem to have a newer revision of the Fusion Forty. Mine doesn't
- have any jumpers and detects its memory itself - as should yours.
- It is really very strange that your board has six SIMMs installed,
- as older F40s have two banks with four slots for 30-pin SIMMs each
- which have to be either filled or left empty together. This is in
- fact another potential source of your problems.
-
- > Can anybody tell me where I can get a manual for the Fusion40?
-
- Try the address of RCS given in the F40-FAQ and hope that they're
- still in business.
-

-
- I hope this helps. If you have any more problems, questions or need
- the latest F40 software (SetFF 1.79, MoveMH 1.2 etc), feel free to
- e-mail me.
